About the Author, Andrew Basden

This part of my web site contains pages relating to my Christian faith. Almost all the pages are put up for reflection, stimulation, exploration and discussion. On a wide diversity of issues.

I hope you enjoy this site.

I'm one of the 1.7 billion people called 'Christians' - those who, at least in theory, model their lives and everything else on Jesus Christ. What brand? I'm what might be called evangelical, rather than liberal, fundamentalist or anglo-catholic, in outlook. But what do I mean by 'evangelical'? Not what it means in the USA! See what I mean by evangelical.

For my work, I teach and research human factors and development of information systems in the University of Salford Business School. I am exploring the philosophy of Herman Dooyeweerd in relation to my work, my politics and also my Christian faith. Politically, I am something of a green activist. I have mild Asperger's Syndrome.

I don't want to compartmentalise my life, but all should be in harmony with Jesus Christ as he really is. So I am developing what, for want of a better name, I call A New View in Theology and Practice which sees everyday life on earth (including our responsibility for climate change) as central in God's cosmic plan rather than a bolt-on ethic.

The best way to get to know me is to explore the pages of this part of my website, especially my spiritual journey, and then more general information, about work etc. is also available.

This page, "http://abxn.org/andrew.html" is part of Andrew Basden's abxn.org pages - pages that open up discussion and exploration from a Christian ('xn') perspective. Written on the Amiga with Protext, in the style of classic HTML.

In case you cannot read that, it is the letters "xn" (for "Christian") at "kgsvr" followed by ".net" (standing for knowledge server on the net"). Thank you.
