Against God ?

This page was started in 1997 not long after the disaster of the Herald of Free Enterprise (see below). I thought it was a sign of those people or systems that thumb their nose at God as revealed in Jesus Christ. So I began collecting pieces that showed this. Then forgot I had this page for 20 years, so it remained with just two examples! Now I want to resurrect it, and will add others as they come to me.

Enjoy. Please send suggestions. Thank you.

The Titanic

Over the door to the engine, written in letters of gold, "The ship which even God cannot sink"! An iceberg got in the way, and the rest is history.

Herald of Free Enterprise

Not just the follower of the principles of free enterprise, but boastfully named as the very herald of free enterprise, this ship sank with loss of many lives. The reason? The very spirit of free enterprise, namely maximizing profits and minimizing costs, dictated that the design of the car deck of this ferry should be one big empty space, and that the operating procedures should pare minutes off the embarking and launch times. The bow doors were not shut before setting sail, water got in, sloshed to one side of the car deck and pulled the boat over.
