'Dialogue and Antithesis' by Yong-Joon Choi
'Dialogue and Antithesis' is the title of an excellent piece of work by Yong-Joon Choi, written as his doctoral dissertation written in 2000. Its value in these pages is:
- Not only does it give a good overview of some of Dooyeweerd's thought that is useful in its own right, but ...
- it provides a clear yet thorough examination of Dooyeweerd's notion of transcendental critique,
- with a discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of Dooyeweerd's ideas that I have found nowhere else, and, perhaps most excitingly of all ...
- it applies Dooyeweerd's ideas in a non-Western context, examining three major types of Korean thought: Shamanism, Confucianism and Buddhism.
Dr. Choi has kindly supplied a copy of his dissertation, so I have prepared it as a mini web site. Each web page contains a chapter:
