World Justice Project
The World Justice Project "is an independent, multidisciplonary organisation working to advance the rule of law worldwide. The main kind of meaningfulness that motivates it is of the juridical aspect, as in its title (justice), and in "government" (an institution qualified by the juridical aspect) and "rule of law" (the norm the Project wishes to uphold and promote. The individual norms that is seeks to promote include:
- Constraint on government powers: Government is juridical; powers are the formative functioning of governments.
- Absence of corruption: Corruption is juridical dysfunction, usually motivated by self-interest (ethical aspect dysfunction).
- Open government: Openness is primary lingual functioning with secondary juridical (truth), but in this case is has a strong juridical component in government.
- Fundamental rights: Rights are juridical.
- Order and security: Order is primarily social-formative, while "security", usually a very ambiguous term, is defined in this case as:
- Crime is effectively controlled: Crime is juridical; controlling it is formative.
- Civil conflict is effectively limited: Civil conflict is social aspect; limiting it is mainly formative (achieving a goal).
- People do not resort to violence to redress personal grievances: Resorting to violence is formative aspect with juridical dysfunction; redressing is juridical good functioning, but often done without mercy and with a desire for revenge (ethical aspect dysfunction), grievances are ostensibly juridical, but are often pistic in nature, being fuelled by our deep beliefs about who we are.
- Regulatory enforcement: Enforcement is formative and social aspects, with others, for the sake of juridical (justice). Regulations are lingual expressions of what is socially-agreed to be justice.
- Civil justice ("whether ordinary people can resolve their grievances peacefully and effectively through the civil justice system"): Juridical, of course. But "Ordinary people" is made meaningful in the social aspect, but maybe also the aesthetic involving harmony. Grievances; see above. "Peacefully" has aesthetic overtones; "effectively" is formative.
- Criminal justice ("taking action against individuals for offenses against society"): Juridical, but the "taking action" emphasises the formative aspect. "Society" is of course a nebulous social concept.
Each is designed to measured - which is transducing the value or amount of good and evil in each of these aspects.
