Unintended Impact of Man
This page lists impact that Man has had on the non-human world, impact that is unintended. Unintended impact is more problematic than deliberate impact because often it is not seen until it is too late - until it is well established, and thus difficult to undo, and, worse, has become an integral part of the the habits and economies and lifestyles of those concerned, and thus difficult to alter.
- Deer fences in Scotland are killing off the Black Grouse, an endangered species. Especially, the young fly into them and are killed, so the population is dropping fast. With the economic pressures on the Highlands, and deer being a source of income, deer fences have been going up by the thousand over the last decade or so.
